CAPITAL CITY STATE BIKE TRAIL, MADISON WISCONSIN

Capital City State Bike Trail is just minutes from the Cameo Rose Victorian Country Inn via the Badger Trail North from the inn. You can connect to the paved Capital City Trail which runs East of Verona along the southern edge of Madison for about 9.5 miles. Near Verona it also connects to the Military Ridge Biking Trail, the New Badger Trail, the Southwest Commuter Bike Trail in Madison. This trail also connects to the John Nolan Path and Monona Trail.

The Capital City State Trail is the link around and through Madison between the Military Ridge State Trail and, eventually, the Glacial Drumlin State Trail. The Capital City Trail's asphalt surface is good for bicycling, walking, jogging, and in-line skating.

The Capital Springs (Dane County E-Way) Segment runs 9 miles through the scenic Capital Springs State Recreation Area south of Madison between Verona Road and Industrial Drive near Nob Hill. It connects with the Military Ridge State Trail and with Madison's Southwest Path, part of Badger State Trail that eventually will goes to the Illinois border. Part of the Badger Trail will be paved from Fitchburg to just North of Paoli.

A state trail pass is required. State Trail passes are available at Cameo Rose Victorian Country Inn.

In the City of Madison, the trail follows 7 miles of city bikeways from Industrial Drive near Nob Hill, under the Beltline Highway, along Lake Monona past the Convention Center downtown, and through the east side of Madison. There is no fee for using the trail in the city.

Fitchburg Segment is a the 1-mile link along Verona Road to the Military Ridge Trail. There is no fee for this segment.
