WISCONSIN BIKE TRAILS AND RECREATIONAL TRAILS:
Cameo Rose Trails - Only registered guests while staying at the inn may enjoy the 120 private acres with miles of private trails through the woods and hilltops of the non-glaciated area of Dane County and Southwest Wisconsin. The park-like land is ideal for romantic strolls, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and scenic views.
Badger State Bike Trail
Bike or hike the 40 mile Badger Trail from Cameo Rose - only 1/2 mile East of the trail. The trails runs from the Jane Adams Trail at the Illinois border and to the Capital City Trail in Madison, WI. Wisconsin's most exciting bike and recreational trail is completed from the Illinois border to the Cameo Rose at Basco. The trail from our inn North is scheduled to be paved from Purcel Road to the Capital City Trail. Snowmobiling will be allowed on part of the trail when completed and as snow conditions permit. Winter all-terrain vehicles are permitted from Monticello to Monroe on a trial basis.

To Madison WI North: The bike trail North of our inn from Basco is graded to Paoli and Purcell Road and toward Madison. Most of the trail from Paoli is scheduled to be blacktopped from Purcell Road to Madison and the Capital City Bike Trail when funds are available.
To Belleville WI South:

- The Stewart Tunnel (just South of Belleville) is an old quarter mile long Civil War stone tunnel that has been restored.

Badger State Trail links our bed and breakfast to Madison and the Capital City State Trail: runs South to the Jane Adams Trail and Freeport, Illinois; connects to the Sugar River State Bike Trail between New Glarus and Monticello; and in Monroe it connects to the Cheese Country Trail. Near Verona it will connect to the Military Ridge State Bike Trail and Madison's Southwest Commuter Bike Trial and the Capital City State Bike Trail. 608-527-2335.
Capital City State Trail - About 8 miles from our inn via the Badger Trail North you can connect to the paved Capital City Trail which runs East of Verona along the southern edge of Madison for about 9.5 miles. Near Verona it also connects to the Military Ridge Biking Trail, the New Badger Trail, the Southwest Commuter Bike Trail and in Madison. Cheese Country Trail - 28 miles to Monroe, WI. The Cheese Country Bike Trail meanders 47 miles through Green, Lafayette and Iowa County from Monroe to Mineral Point. It is a multi-purpose trial for bicycles (mountain bikes or wide-tired bikes are recommended), hikers, horses, horse-drawn conveyances mopeds, motorcycles and off-road dirt bikes. Enjoy a scenic back road view of Southern Wisconsin.
Glacial Drumlin Bike Trail - Cottage Grove, WI. 52-mile Glacial Drumlin bike trail runs East from Cottage Grove through Dane and Jefferson County to Waukesha. 920-648-8774.
Ice Age National Scenic Trail - 5 miles South to Belleville, WI. Hike part of a 1000-mile National Ice Trail in Wisconsin which when complete in Dane County will run past our inn. The Ice Age Trail passes southwest through Belleville and Green County and is ideal for walking and winter cross-country skiing. Join the

Military Ridge State Trail - 6 miles North to Verona, WI is the Military Ridge State Bike Trail. A large parking area is nearby on Old PB or bike on the Badger Trail from our inn to the Military Ridge biking trail. Hike, bike or snowmobile the 41-mile trail west from Verona to Mount Horeb and Dodgeville through Dane and Iowa County. Panoramic views. Pecatonica State Trail - This County trail; connects to Cheese Country Trail running 17 miles through the picturesque Bonner Branch Valley to Belmont. Lins Belmont to Calamine and the Cheese Country Trail. Use for hiking, touring bike, ski and snowmobile. 608-328-9430.
Picnic Point and Lakeshore Path - 17 miles to Madison, WI campus hiking path from the UW Memorial Union to scenic Picnic Point.
Sugar River State Trail - Take our Badger trail from our inn to join the Sugar River State Bike Trail 12 miles Southwest near New Glarus. This 23-mile trail goes to Monticello, Albany and Brodhead, WI. Trail is surfaced with compressed limestone screenings and is ideal for bicycling, hiking and snowmobiling Green County.
