Cameo Rose Trails
- offers their bed and breakfast guests 120 private acres with miles of trails through the woods, hill and uplands non-glaciated area of Dane County and Southwest Wisconsin. Enjoy a park-like setting for scenic views, romantic strolls, snowshoeing, hiking and cross-country skiing.
Badger State Bike Trail is only 1/2 mile West of the Cameo Rose B&B driveway. The trail is scheduled to be blacktopped in 2007 from Paoli (a mile from our inn) north to Madison and the Capital City Bike Trail. Hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are already being enjoyed. Snowmobiling will be allowed on the trail in sections and limited to snow conditions. The Badger Trail will link our bed and breakfast to Madison and run south to the Jane Adams Trail to Freeport, Illinois. It will also connect to the Sugar River Trail, the Military Ridge Trail and the Ice Age Trail. An old quarter mile Civil War stone tunnel is being restored just South of Belleville.
Capital City Bike Trail - 12 miles North to trail in Fitchburg, WI. Paved trail in Dane County runs along the southern edge of Madison and connects to the John Nolan Path and Monona Trail in the East and connects to the Military Ridge Trail and Southwest Commuter Bike Trail in the West. Cheese Country Trail - 28 miles to Monroe, WI. The Cheese Country Trail meanders 47 miles through Green, Lafayette and Iowa County to Mineral Point. It is a multi purpose trial for bicycles (mountain bikes or wide-tired bikes are recommended), hikers, horses,
horse-drawn conveyances mopeds, motorcycles and off-road dirt bikes. Enjoy a scenic back road view of Southern Wisconsin.
Glacial Drumlin Bike Trail - Cottage Grove, WI. 52-mile trail runs east through Dane and Jefferson County to Waukesha.
Ice Age Trail and Foundation - 5 miles South to Belleville, WI. Hike a 1000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail which when complete in Dane County will run past our inn. The Ice Age Trail passes southwest through Belleville and Green County and is ideal for walking and winter cross-country skiing. Join the
Military Ridge State Bike Trail - 6 miles North to Verona, WI. Large parking area is nearby on Old PB. Hike, bike or snowmobile the 41-mile trail west from Verona to Mount Horeb and Dodgeville through Dane and Iowa County. Panoramic views. Copy a map from the web

Pecatonica State Trail - This County trail; connects to Cheese Country Trail running 10 miles through the picturesque Bonner Branch Valley to Belmont. Use for hiking, touring
bike, ski and snowmobile.
Picnic Point and Lakeshore Path - 17 miles to Madison, WI campus hiking path from the UW Memorial Union to scenic Picnic Point.
Sugar River State Bike Trail - 12 miles Southwest to New Glarus and the 23-mile trail to Monticello, Albany and Brodhead, WI. Trail is surfaced with compressed limestone screenings and is ideal for bicycling, hiking and snowmobiling Green County. Copy a trail map from its web site.
